Rev. Ronald Eugene Speas

Rev. Ronald Eugene Speas is the youngest son of the late Cleo Alphonso and Louise Thomas Spease. Born and raised in Tobaccoville, NC, Rev. Speas is a 1984 graduate of North Forsyth High School.  Before retiring in January 2016, Rev. Speas was employed with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol for 30 years.  As a result of his outstanding service to the public and his tireless dedication to the community during his tenure as a State Trooper, he received numerous awards including Trooper of the Year and the NC Governor’s Long Leaf Pine Award.

Rev. Speas is a humble servant of God who has been in the ministry preaching the gospel of Christ for more than 25 years. Under the leadership of the late Rev. J.R. Samuels of St. Stephen's Missionary Baptist Church, he was licensed to preach the gospel in 1992 and was ordained in 1995. He has been pastored and mentored by great spiritual shepherds like Rev. Dr. James A. Webster, pastor of Oak Ridge First Baptist Church (Oak Ridge, NC). Committed to kingdom building and equipping Christians for ministry, Rev. Speas has taught in various venues, including the NC General Baptist State Convention, High Point Educational

and Missionary Baptist Association (HPEMBA), the Forsyth Countywide

Baptist Training Union, the Forsyth County Sunday School Union

and the Yadkin Valley Baptist Association. He also avails

himself to kingdom work through his leadership position

as Vice President of the Baptist Ministers Conference of WS

and his organizational role as an Executive

Board member of the HPEMBA.

Rev. Speas is the pastor of New Jerusalem Missionary

Baptist Church (W-S, NC).  He is a spirit-filled teacher

and preacher who loves the Word and lives the Word. 

He firmly believes that if you stay in the Word, the

Word will stay in you! As such, he ministers with

power and purpose, with conviction and confidence,

with boldness and brilliance. Through his ministry,

Rev. Speas empowers the people of God to walk boldly

in their spiritual purpose and inspires Christians to operate

in their spiritual gifts.  The love and passion that Rev. Speas

has for the Lord is reflected in one of his favorite scriptures,

Romans 8: 28 which states, "And we know all things work

together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according

to His purpose."Rev. Speas is the husband of Dr. Soncerey Montgomery Speas. He is the father of Brittany Shaunte’ Speas and Bryan Eugene Speas (Kirby). He has two grandsons, Brenden Chase Speas and Greyson Eugene Speas.
